Val began her career in Boston in 1993, established VIA Consulting in 2009 and since then has worked with several prominent organizations and businesses in New Mexico. Below is a client list and description of services provided by Val:
Bioneers, The Collective Heritage Institute – Designed and implemented a volunteer and internship program, with a return on investment of $53,000 within a six-month period. Developed a youth leadership program and provided program development support to the Education in Action initiative. Provided facilitation support during the annual Bioneers conference held in Marin County, CA.
Santa Fe Teen court – Teen Court is a first time offenders program with alternative sentencing, which is processed by teens for teens. VIA consulting provided a program evaluation and developed an action plan that highlighted a recidivism study that revealed a 15% recidivist rate, which proved the efficacy of the program.
MIX Santa Fe – Provided assistance with the monthly young professional events and provided strategic support to MIX’s entrepreneurial initiatives. Their initiatives continue to be funded by micro-stimulus grants and supported through professional consultation, and promotional marketing. Provided conceptual support for the revamping of the website to improve user interface, functionality and design. In addition, provided support in conceptualizing MIX's website, user interface and intranet capabilities for overall communication and event management.
Santa Fe Thrive – Provided business development support for defining mission, core values, services, business structure, roles and responsibilities, contracts, policies, procedures and guidelines. We also defined and helped implement talent management protocols for interviewing, hiring, orienting and training. Developed collaborative partnership guidelines and agreement. Sourced contractor services for the design and construction of the yoga and cycling studio, and provided strategic solution support to the owner throughout the building phase.
Santa Fe Community Foundation – Provide professional educational support through an annual workshop series on program development and outcomes measurement. Workshops offered include how to design, implement, manage and assess a successful volunteer and internship program, and how to create successful collaborative partnerships.
Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce – Provide professional educational support through workshops like how to establish excellent customer service for businesses and another on how to design and implement strategic recruitment, interviewing, hiring, orienting and training.
New Mexico Farm to Table – As an active board member since 2013, Val provides mission-driven and goal-oriented strategic support, including advocating for food equity and accessibility in New Mexico.
Vitality with Val – Established a private health coaching practice, including educational programs such as cooking demos at the Santa Fe Farmers Market, farm-to-table tours, education tours of natural grocers, retreats, and invigorating hiking trips. Launched Vitality with Val radio show on KVSF 101.5FM The Voice of Santa Fe (Hutton Broadcasting). The mission of the radio show was to showcase experts in the field of integrative medicine and holistic approaches to health. In recent years Val has partnered with medical institutions like the Center for Life at University of New Mexico to offer monthly educational workshops on various health prevention topics. Val’s health articles have been featured on Gaia.com, Natural Awakenings, and she writes a monthly nutritional column for Evolving Santa Fe magazine.

Acoma Business Enterprise – Developed regional and local tourism, provided strategic facilitation and solution plan for marketing the casino, hotel, food and beverage and cultural center.
Cumbres & Toltec Railroad – Developed electronic marketing campaign to interface Internet tools and analytics to generate brand awareness and ticket sales.
Santa Rosa’s Economic Development Projects – Delivered a feasibility study and business plan for the historic Ilfeld-Johnson warehouse building with the goal to enhance Santa Rosa’s downtown business revitalization. Provided a comprehensive strategic economic development plan and community branding marketing plan, including a downtown master plan to integrate its local business with its historic route 66.
Santa Rosa’s Media Tourism Project – Development of the Blue Hole Dive and Conference center marketing brochure. Produced videos for a television commercial and for online use. Designed an interactive tourism kiosk to be located in Gallup and GlenRio visitor and information centers.
Tucumcari, NM – Renew: Empowering the Land Conference (2009 and 2010)
Provided strategic marketing and branding for this national renewable energy conference targeting ranchers, landowners and developers to provide them with the expertise and partners to enable the construction of renewable facilities on private property. Designed and implemented a conference coordination manual and best practices.
