Valeria's career in Social Impact was seeded in Boston in 1993, she then founded VIA Consulting LLC. in 2009 to work with a diverse clientele. Since, Valeria has worked with prominent organizations and businesses in Massachusetts, California and New Mexico. Below is a client list, from most recent, and a brief description of services provided:

 

City of Santa Fe, Women's Commission – Facilitating a comprehensive strategic planning process for the Commission, with the goal to make recommendations to the City of Santa Fe on how to advance gender equity across its governing structure and city-wide. The strategic planning framework works through a gender equity and intersectional methodology, social and behavioral norms awareness, system-change approach, and data-informed decision making processes.

Santa Fe Community Foundation – Provide professional development and educational workshops on how to conduct 360 organizational assessment and strategic planning; how to design, implement, manage and assess a successful volunteer and internship program; how to create successful collaborative partnerships; and how to leverage on challenges as opportunities during a global pandemic.

La Siembra Leadership High School - Provided educational workshops for students and professional development training for the faculty and administration on Inclusive Leadership. As the only entrepreneurship-focused high school in New Mexico, La Siembra Leadership combines passionate and innovative educators, high-growth employers, and local entrepreneurs to offer innovative, real-world learning that prepares students for the future.

As the Bioneers Chief Operating Officer (2016-2020), Valeria provided transformational leadership, and lead the team through cultural and systemic change  She designed and managed the HR and Operation's systems, and implemented an org-wide project management platform. She also cultivated a culture driven by collaboration, diversity, inclusivity, equity, and direct impact. She successfully streamlined intersectional work resulting in increased performance rating of 95% from 55% within the first year. Valeria co-produced an annual National conference comprised of 4,000 attendees and 65 onsite production team. She managed a remote team of 16 staff members and a 35-member conference production team year-round.

Bioneers, The Collective Heritage Institute – Designed and implemented a volunteer and internship program, with a return on investment of $53,000 within a six-month period. Designed a youth leadership program and provided program development support to the Education in Action Initiative. Provided facilitation support during their annual National Bioneers conference held in Marin County, CA. 

 

Santa Fe Teen court – Teen Court is a first time offenders program with alternative "sentencing" (community work), the processes is processed by teens for teens. VIA Consulting conducted a program evaluation and recidivism study, which revealed a 15% recidivist rate, and highlighted key performance indicators that proved the efficacy of the program.

 

MIX Santa Fe – Provided coordination support for the monthly young professional events and strategic support for MIX’s entrepreneurial initiatives. The initiatives were funded by micro-stimulus grants, to which VIA Consulting provided professional consultation and promotional marketing services. Designed and conceptualized a revised website, resulting in improved user interface, functionality, tracking analytics and intranet design. 

 

Santa Fe Thrive – Facilitated the strategic planning and business development for the launching of this yoga and cycling center. Provided HR systems framework, implement talent management protocols for interviewing, hiring, orienting, training and evaluation. Developed collaborative partnership guidelines and agreement. Sourced contractor services for the design and construction of the yoga and cycling studio, and provided strategic solution support to the owners throughout the building phase and launching process.

 

Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce – Provided professional development and business management workshops, which included effective HR management, how to successfully build excellent customer service, and how best practices of Talent Management which included strategic recruitment, interviewing, hiring, orienting and training, and performance evaluation.

 

New Mexico Farm to Table – As an active board member from 2013 to 2014, Valeria provided mission-driven and goal-oriented strategic support and leadership. As part of the Board, Valeria advocated for food equity and accessibility throughout New Mexico, specially in rural areas.

 

Vitality with Val – In 2012, Valeria established an Integrative Nutrition and Wellness coaching practice, which includes individual coaching, educational programs and cooking demos at the Santa Fe Farmers Market, farm-to-table tours, educational tours of natural grocers, wellness retreats, and invigorating hiking trips. She launched Vitality with Val radio show on KVSF 101.5FM The Voice of Santa Fe (Hutton Broadcasting), which aired 38 episodes. The educational radio show featured experts in the field of Integrative Medicine and Wellness. In recent years, Valeria has partnered with medical institutions like the Center for Life at the University of New Mexico to offer monthly educational workshops on various health prevention topics. Valeria's health articles have been featured on Gaia.com, Natural Awakenings, E.P.I.C. Magazine and Evolving Santa Fe magazine.

 

As a Senior Strategist for The Idea Group of Santa Fe, LLC., Valeria provided consultative support in market research and business feasibility, and contributed innovative strategies, comprehensive methodologies and best practices on the following projects: 

 

Acoma Business Enterprise – Developed regional and local tourism, provided strategic facilitation and solution plan for marketing the casino, hotel, food and beverage and cultural center.

 

Cumbres & Toltec Railroad – Developed electronic marketing campaign to interface Internet tools and analytics to generate brand awareness and ticket sales.

 

Santa Rosa’s Economic Development Projects – Delivered a feasibility study and business plan for the historic Ilfeld-Johnson warehouse building with the goal to enhance Santa Rosa’s downtown business revitalization. Provided a comprehensive strategic economic development plan and community branding marketing plan, including a downtown master plan to integrate its local business with its historic route 66.

 

Santa Rosa’s Media Tourism Project – Development of the Blue Hole Dive and Conference center marketing brochure. Produced videos for a television commercial and for online use. Designed an interactive tourism kiosk to be located in Gallup and GlenRio visitor and information centers.  

 

Tucumcari, NM – Renew: Empowering the Land Conference (2009 and 2010)

Provided strategic marketing and branding for this national renewable energy conference targeting ranchers, landowners and developers to provide them with the expertise and partners to enable the construction of renewable facilities on private property. Designed and implemented a conference coordination manual and best practices.
